As the holiday season kicks into gear, there’s a special day that stands out on the calendar – Giving Tuesday. But Giving Tuesday is not just a day; it’s a movement, a call to action to unleash the power of generosity. It is a way that you can make an impact on the lives of those in your own community.

What is Giving Tuesday?Giving Tuesday

After the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping sprees, Giving Tuesday emerges as a breath of fresh air. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving – this year the date is November 28th – Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages people to donate their time, money, or resources to make a positive change in the world. And while we know there are many worthwhile organizations you can choose to give to, we hope that you will consider including Share the Table as you celebrate this year.

Get to Know Share the Table

Nurturing hope and fostering community, Share the Table, Inc. stands as a faith-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is made possible by the support of seven charter churches, community churches, civic organizations, local businesses, and individuals in Pender and Onslow Counties, North Carolina.

At Share the Table, we are committed to making a difference through practical acts of compassion. Our free community meals, food pantry, and school backpack program extend a helping hand to over 1,000 residents each week in the communities we serve, ensuring that none of our neighbors face the challenges of hunger alone.

How Can You Get Involved?

Giving Tuesday is the perfect moment to dive into the spirit of giving, and Share the Table is making it easy for you to do just that. We have a variety of donation options, catering to all preferences. You can check out all of the ways that you can donate on our website but here are just a few of our favorites!

Capital Campaign

We’ve broken ground and work has begun on our new facility. As is the case with the rising cost of so many other things – including food – construction costs have also increased. We so appreciate all the contributions to our Capital Campaign that have made the new location possible. We are still in need of funding for this very important project!

Help Us Set the Table!Set the table

Looking toward our move into the new facility at Hwy 17 and Perkins Road, our Set the Table campaign will help us furnish and equip the inside of the building. You can help with a donation to check off another one of the boxes. Just let us know which box (or maybe boxes!) you’re donating toward!

Just a Little Bit Goes a Long Way!

If you’re looking to help fill our biggest need at the moment, whenever that is, a monetary donation is the best way to accomplish this. Contributing monetary donations to our programs is a direct way to make a substantial impact on food accessibility for those in our community who need it most. Seniors, unemployed or underemployed workers, teens, children, and adults all depend on the generosity of the community, and your financial support plays a crucial role in sustaining our mission.

A staggering 98% of our funding comes from individual donors, highlighting the pivotal role each contribution plays in our ability to assist those in need. We invite you to consider sharing with us so that we can, in turn, share with the community. Your monetary donations enable us to provide meals, furnish school children with weekend food supplies, and stock our food pantry, empowering individuals to select and take home the items they need. Every contribution, regardless of the amount, is warmly welcomed and goes a long way in making a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

We Welcome and Value Your Support

As we embrace the spirit of Giving Tuesday, let’s remember that this day isn’t just a date on the calendar; it’s a call to action, an opportunity to unleash the power of generosity. The holiday season, with its hustle and bustle, gives us a chance to reflect on the impact we can make on the lives of those in our own community.  Share the Table offers what many of our neighbors need, fueled by the support of our community. Whether it’s contributing to the Capital Campaign, making a monetary donation for our daily operations, or helping Set the Table for our future, your involvement makes a tangible difference.

As we embark on this season of giving, consider the meaningful impact you can create by supporting Share the Table. Together, let’s make this Giving Tuesday not just a day, but a movement of compassion that resonates far beyond the holiday season. Thank you for being a vital part of our journey.
